Wonder Meat! (Unofficial Epilogue to End by NotARobot59)

Spencer Kilkenny was a conspiracy theorist and all around nutjob, doomsday prepper, bootlegger and man of the woods.
He was considered by many to be a loon and not a man to take serious.
That was until FluffZ and it’s outbreak which ultimately led to the destruction of all known fluffies.
And then he became a fountain of knowledge. Everyone wanted to know what he thought and how he lived his life.
The public distrusted corporations following the actions of the now-defunct hasbio and there was a lot distrust in corporations and government altogether.
And that wasn’t the worst of it. With all fluffies gone a lot of people went redundant, there was a mass of job losses. The food industry greatly suffered as a result and the niche farmers who raised cows, chickens and other food animals couldn’t produce enough to sate the public’s hunger for meat.
The fluffy was after all the perfect animal to produce into cheap food. The era of affordable, cheap meat was now gone. And the public could not face the reality of eating carrots.
A solution had to be found. But why was Spencer so important you ask?
Spencer was a proud libertarian and he believed in the free market. He made little complaints when he made money and lost money. Bitcoin was a valuable lesson. He learned to invest in physical commodities.
He didn’t trust corporations or governments and he certainly didn’t pay his fair share of taxes! (To him, zero was a fair share)
Spencer owned the (now) largest collection of fluffies in the world and no one knew about them. Unregulated, un-neutered fluffies “playing” freely in their filth as they were intended. All kept in small pens and fed hay and crap on his estate in Appalachia.
No one came up there, no one said a thing. Everyone distrusted government here. They took their money and what did they have to show for it?
Spencer was no slacker. And he was no rube neither. Everyone was begging for meat, and affordable meat at that, he put out some feelers on the dark web.
And someone took his bait.
A company wanted to produce cloned meat, lab grown in a test tube that was 100% cruelty free and sustainable. Ultimately something that grew quick and something that could be used to save the food industry.
Other specimens took a while to grow into something you could put out en masse for mass production. But there was another type of meat that grew quicker. Mainly as it was artificial to begin with.
Two suits and a lot of rubes met up with Spencer. He didn’t dress for the occasion and he kept tobacco and a shotgun by his side. He had a talent for sniffing out rubes and he knew he could always make money from white collars. Dressing like this gave him the advantage of allowing them to under-estimate him. They were looking at a regular old hillbilly here.
Until he negotiated a big pay out for half of his fluffies and a share in the company if it took off as they had intended.
This was the largest payout for a collection of fluffies in history. And no one could talk about it.
Spencer went away a satisfied man. The fluffies that he gave away were packed tightly into the truck to take them. They thought they were free. They cheered when they could finally move their legs properly but they were all packed in tighter than their pens. And then it went dark. It was far too scary.
And the fluffies were given a new home in a warehouse designed like a barn. The conditions here were much more sanitary than back at Spencer’s estate. A few of them died during the journey, a few of them died during cleaning! There were a lot of dismissals. This was one of the rare times anyone was ever fired for harming a fluffy. Of course, they had never been this valuable.
No one would know it would be fluffy meat either! Labelled as Wonder Meats, this cloned meat would be the saviour of the food industry and a welcome return to affordable food.
And a few of the fluffies were dissected and studied. Their genetics worked out to map how to grow their meat in a test tube.
All of the fluffies were pin-pricked every day for their boo-boo juice. There were a lot of tears and a lot of flinching. They came to understand they needed to give it to stay at the barn. They didn’t know why the Daddehs needed it. They were given sugary drinks, salads, and even fluffy meat that had been grown to feed on.
The fluffy meat was edible and fluffies, notorious for their poor digestion and inability to draw nutrients from food, were able to digest it and looked healthier. It looked like the meat would be a success after all!!
The genetics were worked out and the bio-samples taken to produce more Wonder Meat.
The fluffies were no longer needed. And the evidence destroyed in a large fire. The fluffies could not escape. They were trapped in their pens and as they were surrounded by flammable material, they would also be tinder for the flames.
Spencer would also get a visit from unwanted and unwelcome guests…….no one must know how they got hold of the fluffy samples.
And Wonder Meat was released to the public at large. And was a success.
The food industry was revived, people were able to buy cheap, affordable food, jobs were saved.
And best of all, no trace of the FluffZ virus…………..
Until a man took ill. His face twisted and spasmed like a seizure, his mouth frothed and his body jerked and lost control, he became suddenly very violent.
And with a painful erection that wouldn’t go down.
This was the first recorded case of Murder Boner in months!! Where were the fluffies?
And then there were more outbreaks. And more people became uncontrollable and violent killing themselves.
The streets literally flowed with blood.
But where were the fluffies?!
And as it turned out, no one knew the virus had evolved. The tests at Wonder Meat confirmed that there was no trace of the virus in their samples.
No one knew it came from the unclean slaughterhouses, kitchens and other places fluffies and fluffy meat had been stored. These places did not follow the rules behind cleaning and testing for traces of the virus.
Everyone thought the virus died with fluffies and the death of all fluffies ended it.
But here it was and it had found a new home. Here to stay.
And now it was in the Wonder Meat.
And it was now in the bodies of every human who had consumed it.
The fluffies had unintentionally doomed us all even when they weren’t around anymore.
Fucking Fluffies……...

Default English word list

Alright so, I took the default database from there https://skribbliohints.github.io/ and with the help of html, I extracted the words to a list separated by commas. It's useful when you want to translate those words into your native language.
Word of advice, when using google translate, do not put all words at once there, it can rapidly worsen the translation.
(And there is a last thing. Their algorithm of picking only custom words is not working really good, at least for me. Meaning that I often get duplicates, despite having a list this big and without duplicates. I'm still trying to find some solution to this, so if somebody is experiencing this as well, share the knowledge please, I will do the same.)
SOLUTION: Thanks for the reply from PepegaWR who identified the cause. I also tested it and there seems to be a custom words limit of 5000 characters. The easiest way in my opinion is to shuffle the words before each session to minimize the impact. Also thanks to the flynger who had the same idea before me :)
Finally, here it is, enjoy the scribbling ^^ :

I need help with deciding how to best move around being second island player

Cross-posting from advice because I'm not getting feedback there
OK, this is as trivial as the title sounds, but it's lowkey picking away at me.
If you don't feel like reading the backstory, just go down to where it says "MY OPTIONS"
As we all know, the latest Animal Crossing game came out last month. My brother (middle school) and me (early twenties) went 50-50 for it.
My baby brother (BB) likes Animal Crossing, but it's far from his favorite game, I'm pretty sure. And he's a gamer guy in general, always playing Smash or on the computer with his friends playing games. We're also a huge Zelda family.
I, on the other hand, have played all the variations of AC. It's something I get emotionally invested in.
When the game arrived, I was sick. It was uncertain if I had corona or something else at the time. We're all fairly confident now, with a doctor's opinion to support it (through a video meeting), that it was a separate illness, thankfully. But naturally, I had to keep my distance. Since it's my brother's game as well, he got to be the one to warm it up, hence he's the first player.
For those who don't play AC, the games have this thing where although you can have more than 1 save file for a town, only the first player gets to have all the full features of the game. Yay capitalism. This means I can't start build projects or help shops progress to the next level, it all has to be done through my brother's account.
My brother has done his investment in the game (I just started yesterday, because I wanted to be extra sure I didn't have anything, and I got sidetracked by other things). He's built 2 bridges, leveled his house 2 levels above tent, got Nook's Cranny and the Able Sisters. He's also put little build projects and Nook Ticket items around town, like a drinking fountain in front of the town hall. So it's not a question of if he's playing, but I don't think he plays daily, either. Probably every few days, but I can ask him. We've had the game for a month now
I have to confess that I was hoping he'd drop the game by now, so that I can weasel in with a "since you don't seem that interested, is it OK if I start a new game?" but that doesn't seem to be the case, even if other games seem to be a bigger priority.
Now let me make clear, my brother is proof that angels walk the Earth. That's the biggest reason why I'm not going in with my idea above, because I know he'd say yes no matter how he felt. If I was gonna do it, it'd be because I can infer he was actually done with the game. Another example of him being an angel incarnate is that he actually offered to fully buy the game for me as a gift. I didn't bring it up at all, I forgot that a new AC was even coming out when he said it. He just went up to me and suggested it. I was the one who suggested going half in to be nice.
MY OPTIONS:
1.) Ask him tomorrow if he's OK with me starting a new game file. Town building doesn't seem to be a big thing for him, he'd probably be just as happy doing the standard stuff (buying things, fishing, bug catching, etc.). The downside is that he'll probably say yes regardless of how he felt.
2.) Buy my own Switch. The switch we play on is officially his. I have more than enough to buy one new, but whether or not I'm really ready to pay $300 or more on something I can already use without spending that is a big question.
A minor perk to my own Switch, aside from not having to worry about hogging it, is that my BB's switch's right analog stick seems mildly busted. It doesn't make the Switch unplayable, but sometimes the camera starts rotating in houses or my player starts walking on her own. It's easy to stop by just tilting it the opposite direction, but it also unfortunately makes the tool ring dysfunctional.
3.) Play on my other brother's Switch. He told me I can use it because he no longer plays it, but he intends to sell it, because apparently earlier Switch models had a thing in the system where pirating games was super easy and convenient. I don't know the details or how true this is, but apparently it was enough of a problem where Nintendo had to adjust the model so it wasn't as easy to pirate. He claims this means he can get it for higher than what he payed for it new, since people would be saving money in the long run pirating games. I have a feeling this is too good to be true, this wouldn't be the first time he made a bad judgement in business (nothing big, but stuff like thinking he'll get his big break from bitcoin when everyone else was already doing it), but either way, it's only my Switch until he decides it isn't anymore. And no, he won't sell to me at a discounted price.
4.) Suck it up, or at least wait maybe another month or more until it seems my brother is totally done with the game.

Technocracy, Blockchain, Climate Change and the Great Replacement

Disclaimer: I haven't written an organized paper in a very long time, so I ramble quite a bit here and this is probably an incoherent mess, but I just wanted to get my thoughts together and share them with you guys in case you find them interesting.
I recently watched James Corbett's How Big Oil Conquered the World and its followup and there are some interesting connections that appeared to me while watching. The first bit of context for this is the idea of Technocracy, or a method of governing that puts technological elites, or the owners of all the tech related industries, in charge of society. More importantly, it advocates for abolishing currency as we know it and replacing it with units of energy which are rationed out to each person on whatever basis the Technocrats see fit. Obviously this is a very easy system to manipulate, when you've got a group of so-called experts at the top rationing out the wealth that they choose to disclose to the public, allowing them to give as much or as little as they would like.
Corbett connected the Rockefellers to Eugenics, which he then connected to climate change research and the interesting conclusions it comes to in terms of who needs to be footing the bill on "our" overexpenditure of resources. John D. Rockefeller's fortune never disappeared, and his family is still one of the most wealthy families in the world with, between their assets and whatever wealth of theirs could be assessed as their worth, a value so large that knowing the exact number is honestly insignificant. But, as Corbett points out, the Rockefellers' true worth is not in their money or in oil or any individual resource they might have a large stake in; it's in the power that comes with having a massive stake in so many different areas in western culture and governance, on a foundational level. Along with the Rothschilds, Carnegie and the British & Dutch royal families, the Rockefellers have been able to steer medical education, historical education, government policy and western culture through philanthropic activity.
If you've watched Why Big Oil Conquered the World, then you've probably already made your judgment on the validity of the claim that the link between humans and climate change has been exaggerated in order to make eugenics more palatable to the public, and that being the cornerstone of my argument here, feel free to dismiss this if you disagree. There is undeniable proof provided in the documentary that the Rockefellers, at least, if not all the other elite families mentioned above, see themselves as a higher class of humans that is meant for greatness. Knowing this, we can look at the nexus of the main points the media/elite cultural figures are trying to make us consumers agree on: that humans are destroying the earth and therefore are undesirable, that the disappearance of distinct races is not only inevitable but desirable, and that the poor and middle class need to stay engaged in class warfare among themselves to keep them from uniting against the rich. I often see left wing media taunting white people about their race being bred out, and I often see right wing media fear mongering with white people about us being bred out. I can't say much about other races because of course, being white, news relating to white people sticks out to me more. Regardless, all three of these things are kept fresh in our minds no matter where we get our news or information from.
The trajectory of thought on climate change appears to me to say we need less humans, that of the one race of the future idea and inevitable race-blending says that humans will generally become much more similar to each other and lose that aspect of their identity, and our class-division thinking keeps this mass of people that will blend into one genetically similar group separate from the small elite group that, if you haven't noticed, doesn't like to breed interracially themselves. So, the conclusion here would be that to save the earth from climate disaster, we need to subjugate people in this developing lower class while cultivating the upper class's genetics and making sure they are all well taken care of. Technocracy lends itself very well to this kind of society, and allows the rich, genetically "pure" to be the stewards of wealth for the world, leaving the bottom 99% of the world with as little as our elites can give while keeping us useful.
In comes Bitcoin to popularize blockchain technology. Most people don't understand this technology whatsoever, and I only really have the most vague understanding of it myself, but these terms have become commonplace despite that. To my understanding, Blockchain is a special technology because the currency attached to it always contains a history of transactions it's been involved in. Bitcoin has a dollar value, but let's say Carboncoin comes out and 1 Carboncoin is 100,000 joules. You can attach a value to literally every object in the world based on energy used in its production, and from there use a biometrically locked Carboncoin wallet to validate each expenditure as your own. This would allow even free public services like a water fountain or public toilet to charge you for its use. This is easily justifiable for the cause of making people more conscious of their waste, but in practice it would be a horrific world. Your location would always be known based on transactions, and your economic freedom would completely disappear, not to mention whatever other freedom the elite would want to take.
I think that this relates to the idea of a Great Replacement happening in that it's kind of a soft eugenics movement, from the perspective of someone that believes in eugenics. Moving a migrant population into a country to breed out the hegemonic ethnic group dilutes the genetics of the "superior" group with "inferior" genetics, effectively taking out your only competition. These people don't expect resistance from ethnic groups they don't respect, and so they're trying to eliminate the group that they do respect. Don't forget, these people are keeping themselves "pure". You will never see a mixed race Rockefeller.
In summary, I think this coalition of families is enacting eugenics and softening the public toward the idea of implementing full world economic control through Technocracy and blockchain technology, using climate change as the factor to unite us all against our own interests.

There's genuinely nothing quite like American optimism. `I know, I know... the done thing is to shit-talk America in threads like this, but speaking as a Brit, that's what really makes the USA special and relatively unique in terms of national histories. America is a country that's (at least theoretically) built on the idea of equality and justice quite literally for all. You had the sheer brass balls to put a big ol' statue up at one of the most trafficked entryways in the world -- yes, yes, OP's momma notwithstanding -- that literally asked the world to give you its tired, its poor, its huddled masses yearning to breathe free. You built an entire mythology around the idea that, by pulling together and with a little elbow grease, you can make something of yourself no matter where you start from.` Is it true? No, not completely -- not for a lot of people. But it *is* important. It's a hardscrabble world out there, and the idea that Americans are better because they'll do the right thing, the honourable thing, the *decent* thing no matter how hard that might be makes things a little bit brighter. It's important that the first thing countless immigrants got to see wasn't a display of America's power and strength and prosperity but of America's guidance: a torchlight in the darkness. That most mythological of figures, Superman, espouses the idea of Truth, Justice and the *American* Way for a reason. That's not because it's the way things are, but because it's the way things can be. It's something to aspire to. It's Atticus Finch and Jefferson Smith and Rocky Balboa and the Little Engine That Could. `You lose your way sometimes -- and you really, *really* do lose your way; no one should dispute that, especially given recent events -- but you're never so far gone that you can't pull your way back. America is one of very, very few countries where you always feel that that return is both possible, and something that you root for. It's the world's largest superpower that has never quite learned that it isn't the plucky underdog.` Don't let that optimism and hope for the future die out. Don't let the feeling that you can step up and change things even when the odds seem stacked against you become apathy, hate and fear. Don't be afraid to learn, to improve, to be better. I spend a *lot* of time writing about American politics, and I know full well how stressful it can be, but without hope there can be no change for the better. Improvement is aspirational, and it depends on people getting out there and choosing to try, even when it looks and feels like it makes no difference at all -- because it still does. ` If anything, that's when it matters the most -- and it's worth keeping.`

That takes me back :) - So much has happened since that first comment... I was in a pretty dark place when I started looking for laughs with this. I had just finished cleaning out my fathers house after his death... official cause of death was \"unknown due to decomposition\" and I had been tasked to clean out his house where his body had been found. It was 100+ degrees around his house when he died and he didn't have an A/C unit. His body decomposed quickly and pretty much melted into the floor. The mattress he had died on was obviously removed... and so was the floor under it... and then the dirt under the subfloor needed to be excavated... I could never get that smell of death out of my mind and had to deal with it for the 30 days while I packed up his belongings. While cleaning out his house I found 3 suicide notes in envelopes next to several empty pill bottles... also a book on different ways of committing suicide earmarked. Most of his belongings had to be tossed out as everything smelled like death... I wasn't in a good financial place and was living in an old RV parked on some abandoned property. It was in the old RV sitting at the \"kitchen table\" when this all started - and after that first comment I laughed out loud for about 10 minutes. ` Things got better for me for a while... Bitcoin went through the roof and I had managed to get my hands on a few - so when it hit 15k or so I sold them. Bought myself a good car, sold that RV, and moved into a rental house. From there life has had it's ups and downs but that was def. a low point for me when this started... a VERY low point. In a weird way the entire Undertaker thing was a way for me to laugh and smile - something I didn't do much back then. Anyway, I know most of you are expecting this end a certain way but I wanted to get serious for a minute and mention what all this means to me. Thank you all for laughing with me... it really means a lot to me. <3 - SM`

That's really sad. Like, really sad. I'm all for having hobbies and doing what you enjoy, but sitting on your ass 10 hours a day, *every day*, is downright pitiful. I love video games as much as the next person but I wish gamers would stop glorifying this kind of activity. It's not healthy nor impressive. Working 70 hours a week is extremely unhealthy, which is basically what this guy did, and he didnt even get paid.

A letter to my younger-self at my 18th Birthday

Dear younger-self,
Congrats on your 18-year birthday, December kid. Enjoy the birthday party - trust me - it will be a blast!
You’re (finally) grown-up, and as you know, a year with many changes are looming. Finishing high school and starting university is a big change. But trust me, you’ve no idea about the overwhelming amount of changes coming over the next few years. (Did you realize that the university is 1.5-hour transport from your home? Fuck transport. Seriously. Good luck with your moving-out in August!).
I had doubts if I should even write this letter. The last 12 years of my life have been absolutely amazing. Absolutely. I hope there are no butterfly effects from this - I wouldn’t want to cheat you from the next 12 years. But at the same time, I wanted to reassure you: everything is going to be (more than) okay, and you’re going to exceed any expectation you had for life.
Your life right now is pretty great. You’re doing great in school, you’re happy, you’re having friends and you’re having a lot of fun day-to-day. Yes, your girlfriend just broke up with you - but let’s face it - you liked the idea of having a girlfriend, but she’s ugly and unintelligent. She just did what you (well, we?) should have done months before.
But pause for a second. You’re on fucking autopilot. You have an amazing drive & intellect, but you’re on autopilot. You’re doing what other people expect you to do.
Yes, you have friends - but you’re the second wheel. They’re not really your friends. Why are you hanging out with these friends?
Yes, your grades are great and you will be awarded the highest grade average of everyone in the high-school that year. But it’s just “random” without a direction. Why are you getting the highest grades?
Yes, you’re having fun - but you could have more fun if you asked what you really want.
You’re on autopilot.
During the Christmas vacation, you will stumble upon the most life-altering thing you’ve ever tried. You will find an online community called “The Game” - an online community for men wanting to become better at seducing women. This will bring you on a life-altering journey, where the most important lesson is: everything you do should be part of a larger plan. A larger goal.
That doesn’t mean you cannot watch a movie because it’s not part of a plan. But instead of just watching a movie, it should be a conscious choice that you need to recharge your energy.
Also, you need to stop underestimating how important social intelligence is. The “less smart” but “party guys” at high-school? Well, they’re going to be the most successful ten years after (well, besides you, of course ;) ).
Removing the autopilot
I still remember the first time I tried to remove the autopilot and wrote down the most outrageous goals I could imagine:
I remember looking at these goals, laughing at them, not believing they could happen.
The last ~11.5 years I’ve been pursuing these goals & learned a lot on the way.
Having sex with 100+ girls.
I know. I know. You’ve had sex with 2 girls, both ugly as fuck. You’re hilariously awkward around girls. You’re not the guy who “gets the girl”.
Having sex with 100+ girls might seem a bit outrageous. A bit like a starved boy standing in a candy store. But there’s nothing wrong with standing in that candy-store and buying everything. As long as you’ve fucking earned it.
Less than 3 years from reading this, you will have changed. I remember my “peak pick-up night”. Sober, in a night-club, I managed to get phone numbers from 5 girls, kiss 6 girls and ending the night with a “triangle kiss” with 2 girls with everyone at the club looking at you. All beautiful girls.
But what happens when the starved boy in the candy-store has eaten a lot of candy? He slows down. He picks his favorites. He finds a flavor he likes. I’ve not fucked 100 girls. I’m closer to 100 than 50. But (luckily) you pick up amazing relationships along the way, and you learn that longer close relationships triumphs one-night stands. Any day.
Today I can get girls any-time I want. But I very often prioritize work and sleep, over sex. But being in control over this aspect of your life is amazing.
The only regret I have in terms of girls is that I didn’t apply the “never lie” rule earlier. Today, I never lie to anyone. Even, defined broadly, as in leaving out important details is considering lying to me.
Leave people better than when you found them. Be respectful. Never lie to get sex. The crazy part, is this will give many more sexual opportunities than lying.
I want to weight less than 80kg!
Weighing 105kg is not good. You’re enormous.
Weighing 105kg is bad for two reasons:
1) You’re not getting the pretty girls, because you’re ugly as fuck (and while we’re at it, replace those glasses with contacts NOW - glasses does NOT fit your face)
2) This one is important. You’re scared of death. This doesn’t change by the way. The only comforter I have is that everyone is freaking scared of death. The whole concept of “not existing” is scary-as-fuck. No explanation can change this. It’s not uncommon for people to get therapy for “death anxiety”. Don’t worry - you don’t need therapy.
In 2019, however, there are openings. Longevity experts believe it’s possible to add decades to our expected lifespan in our lifetimes. The life expectancy for the richest part of the population is already above 90. You need to read the book “The singularity is near”, which argues that technology is improving exponentially, which might be a way to escape death.
Is this a naive search for the “fountain of youth”? Of course, it is! And is it going to work out? Of course, the chances are (extremely) minimal. But it’s more than 0.00%, so it’s your best bet. Besides cryonics.
But that’s not the main point. You want to live as long as possible, measured in healthy life-span. It’s better to live to 95 years and then die, than 80 years.
Avoiding smoking (like grand-dad), alcohol abuse (like mom - yes, she’s an alcoholic - it’s not normal to drink that much white-wine), being obese (like dad - yes, he’s in amazing shape but he’s 10kg overweight), isolation (like grand-mom lives) and accepting death without aggressive treatments (like grand-mom 2 will do). Being obese will be your biggest weakness - take it seriously.
I want to run a marathon!
You never tried to run more than 5kg, so this was the craziest goal you could come up with?
Well, I’m writing this after attending my third marathon (this time in Warsaw). You’re going to run on average 2 half-marathons every month as a casual Sunday exercise.
Enjoy.
I want to be economically independent
Quit that dream of becoming a software developer at an enterprise company. With your crazy energy and bulldozer-like personality, that’s not going to end well. Luckily Microsoft declined you after 3 interviews when you cocky-as-fuck applied on your third semester at university.
Becoming economically independent requires you to either 1) become a “C-level executive at a big company”, 2) become an entrepreneur or 3) make a series of very lucky investments.
Being the personality you are, we can easily eliminate the C-level executive. You’re many things. A well-rounded and “politically smart” person, you’re not. You’re going to be offered a position at Boston Consulting Group, but really, skip everything management consulting, as well.
During your 4-year long job-career, you’re going to suck at having jobs. You’re going to manage to get yourself fired 5+ times in “developer roles” within the first week at the job. The record was after 11 hours at a company, where you called your boss an “idiot” in front of his boss. No regrets. He was an idiot. That gig only paid 10.000 USD a month anyway. At 23 years old, you’re not the most diplomatic person around...
You’re going to have one job you really love at a 50-person big company. But that’s because you have a boss that “unleashes you”, and somehow manages to make sure you don’t crash into too many walls. I’m still proud of what we managed to accomplish here.
At 25 years old, you’re forced with a tough choice. At this time you’re a “digital nomad”, profiting roughly 15.000 USD per month. You’re outsourcing development work to multiple companies, and can live anywhere in the world. But, this won’t become a billion-dollar company (unfortunately, ambitions grow..). You choose the opportunity.
At the time of writing this, I’m not rich yet. But I’ve had the chance 2 times. The first time, was above startup which got to 45 employees before going bankrupt.
The second time, you sold the vast majority of your hundreds of Bitcoins at very bad times.
Right now, I’m on my third attempt. I’m building a company that is 16 months old. We’re 15 full-time employees and is about to raise a seed round. If we succeed, the company valuation will be north of 10 million USD. Not bad. The goal is to become a billion-dollar company. A unicorn.
I want to travel to see every continent!
I’m reaching 50 countries, and I’ve been to most continents.
The trick is to work remotely, for shorter periods at a time. I try to work remotely for one week, every month. This gets tiring at times, but then the frequency can be decreased and replaced with longer trips.
(Oh, and trust me, living in both Hong Kong and the Philippines - best decision ever! The only regret was not to be single in both places ;-) )
The future seems fucking bright, right?
But trust me, it comes with very hard work.
EVERYTHING comes with a sacrifice. Over the next 12 years:
- You’re not going to spend lots of time with friends. - You’re not going to spend lots of time with your family. The fact you see mom the day before she dies is pure luck. You had just spent 3 months in Asia coming home the day before.
- You’re not going to start a family, or get children.
- You’re going to watch very few new movies & play very few new computer games.
Also, not everything is going to be perfect. It’s very hard to balance things. Just some quick top-of-mind examples:
- Remember I told you I just attended my third marathon? I didn’t prioritize actually preparing for the marathon, so I had to quit after 35km.
- You’re going to have a very hard time actually “connect with girls” and start a serious relationship. You’re always going to have “the grass is always greener” in the back of your mind.
- You’ve gone bankrupt with a company and managed to lose 1.5 million USD of investor money
There are no regrets about my choices. Nothing comes automatically.
Take learning to date girls took just as much of my time and focus - mostly on hard rejections or fearing approaching the girl - as studying at university.
But when all comes to all, I’m EXTREMELY happy about the decision to remove the autopilot and the conscious choice to go for these girls.
Work harder, be more ambitious, read more books & stop lying to anyone.
The next 12 years (and hopefully continued!) will be the best years anyone ever experienced.

In The City Of Meatbot-Powered Killers (part 4)

Table of Contents.
Part 3.
I hit the dark web for a few minutes, burned a couple of Bitcoin for a block of stolen credit card numbers, and searched for what the hell just happened downtown.
While I took a couple of the platinum card accounts to activate some of my burner phones (their fraud support will save them some charges, and I'll still have some prepaid phones to work with), I digested what the Army and Air National Guard just did.
(*26 hours ago, in RQZ HQ...)
Col. {Jones}, HQ "Six" (HQ6): This is Six, go ahead, sir.
Adjutant General, New York National Guard (AGNY): This operation is strictly need-to-know now, Six. It has been designated "Top Secret: Compartmentalized" at the highest levels, and the code name attached is "Glass Chipmunk."
HQ6: What the... who comes up with this shit... uh, sir?
AGNY: Some spook at the NSA. More time on their hands than sense.
HQ6: Yes, sir.
(Side note: The reason top secret stuff gets odd code-names is because they are words you would not accidentally say in a normal conversation. Try to work "Glass Chipmunk" into a sentence without sounding like you're crazy. It *might** work with someone with a curio collection... sort of like Alpine Shepherd Boy... but otherwise, you will stand out.*)
AGNY: How is the perimeter?
HQ6: Solid, sir. Nothing is getting out of there. We've had a few... anomalies, but no breaches.
AGNY: "Anomalies?"
HQ6: Well... it appears that the mad scientists' little toys don't hole up well in non-humans. We've had some animals come to the wire and just melt. The larger ones, we need to put down... have you ever tried shooting a cat and her kittens? They melted, too.
AGNY: I'll arrange to get some more men rotated in. Things like that obliterate morale.
HQ6: Thank you, sir... but we need a longer-term solution to this. We've gotten lucky, so far, in that only a few infected have tried to hit us. Tracers work well, so we've taken to loading all of our SAWs with nothing else. If they hit us in anything larger than 3 or 4 at a time, we're gonna get overrun in a heartbeat and a half, and you'll have a lot more than a city's worth of these things to worry about.
AGNY: Roger that, Six. I gotta tell ya, Tom... I've never thought, not even once, that we'd be talking about bombing American citizens.
HQ6: Roger that, Six. Voting demographic will definitely shift.
AGNY: Are you suggesting...
HQ6: No, sir. Just a bit of gallows' humor. Whistling in the graveyard, as it were.
AGNY: How about our reluctant big-brain?
HQ6: Still no sign of him. We lost him during his move towards the campus. We think he's in the Advanced Research Labs facility on campus, but we're not sure enough to risk an extraction team in a hostile-heavy area of the city.
AGNY: We have a good set-up on the plaza. Give the green light for the Reaper to launch. You are covered.
HQ6: That's an order?
AGNY: Direct order, Tom. Take solace in the fact that it's an act of mercy for the poor bastards.
HQ6: Yes, sir.
Reaper drone pilot, designated RD-3: On station, awaiting instructions.
HQ6: What's your load, RD-3:
RD-3: I have 4 Hellfires, sir. I see the target, awaiting order.
HQ6: You've been briefed as to the situation?
RD-3: Yes, sir. Glass Chipmunk. (almost inaudible chuckle)
HQ6: Right. When you have the target locked, you are cleared to engage.
RD-3: Order received. Lightin' em up.
Video footage from RD-3
It's daytime, timestamp on the video is 1106. Wide shot of a square plaza surrounded by concrete and glass buildings, in a Brutalist architectural style.
In the plaza is a large, pulsating mass of bodies, covered in dirt, rags, dried "blood" (in reality, it's mostly meatbots at this point), sweat, and strips of dried flesh.
A fountain in the center has kept these people hydrated since the outbreak. It has allowed this... gathering... to continue unabated.
"Gathering" is too weak a word. It's like a Roman orgy crossed with Cannibal Holocaust or Green Inferno.
The weakest have either stayed at the fringes and devoured what scraps they can, knowing that they have no chance at survival in the main body, or threw themselves in early, were torn to shreds and eaten whole, in order to kill the all-consuming hunger driving them.
The strongest have formed a horrific symbiosis, tearing chunks off of each other, letting chunks get torn from them, then healing enough to repeat the process. The looks of pain when injured are almost indistinguishable from the looks of rapture when they devour a neighbor.
There is no "sex," per se. Hunger has replaced sexual desire. If anything, the erogenous zones seem to be the most targeted areas for consumption... and since they grow back, they get targeted a lot.
I don't want to look. I want to make a bad joke about oral sex and fix myself a bottle of rum. Better still, a keg.
I look anyway.
At 1113, a missile tears into a fuel truck abandoned at the east end of the plaza. The angle is perfect: flaming kerosene or diesel splashes over the crowd, and thick clouds of boiling black smoke quickly fill the space.
Some of the (un)lucky few who escaped the initial blast run away.
Most, either sensing a well-cooked meal or realizing this will end the agonizing hunger, dive into the center of the holocaust.
In one strike, the National Guard have eliminated about 3/4 of the population of [REDACTED].
I've been working frantically for the past day, trying to find a way to protect myself from possible infection. I can't think "if" anymore: those idiots out there will see me at some point and launch an extraction. I've seen enough horror movies to know how catastrophically it will fail, and how likely I will be to have highly-trained, inhibition-impaired, hungry, rapid-healing killers at my door.
Yes, I'm a pessimist.
I know now how we got to this point, and I have the entire sequence ciphered out. My meatbots were part of a power struggle within the group, and were weaponized purely by circumstance.
First, Dr. A. He got in to the GATACA compiler and dropped his little brain bomb in the code. Hidden in the "comments" in the DNA (we had plenty of space to put messages in the DNA, and did so frequently to explain why Sequence 8c, for example, was written to repair a long muscle in a certain manner, rather than another) was his excuse:
Dr. A: By the time you read this, you will no longer head this project. If I can strike quickly and "prove" that you bungled the neuro programming, I can capitalize and run this program as I see fit. Some people aren't worth saving. Others should be reprogrammed for the greater good.
Dr. B followed this up by checking out the endocrine codes and cranking hunger to 1000. His excuse:
Dr. B: Need more. We can fund this by selling the old versions on the black market, and keep the excess for ourselves.
Profiteering, meet societal re-engineering.
It might have gone almost unnoticed, except for player 3.
Late in the project, I had an assistant basically forced on me. Dr. C was also a computer scientist, come to us from government service. He said the right things, asked the right questions, and made himself indispensable.
What I didn't know until last night was, he was a military contractor on the side, and was looking for combat applications for the 'bots.
He knew what the other fuckwits had done, and instead of fixing it...
It was he who showed Bobby the "Jesus room" (he used a different name for each guard, knowing they would be impressed with what was within). He managed to get a copy of Steve's key card to the most pliable guards, then waited for the inevitable.
He got very lucky (or unlucky) that we had just begun to prep for primate trials when Bobby's wife died. He had the "perfect" weaponized version of my project, and its spread was the perfect test.
I know this because the dumb fucker emailed his superiors on a civilian email account.
The NSA grabbed him up rapidly after that. He's sitting in Guantanamo Bay, if there's any justice.
What I've learned in the past 48 hours is sickening.
When I was a kid, I read Frankenstein several times. Mary Shelley shares my birthday, so it's like we're soul mates separated by 200 years.
I always told myself, "Don't let hubris be your downfall. You're doing this for mankind. You're not playing God... you're doing God's work, if we really are created in His/Her image."
This has never been about doing it because we could. It's doing it because we need this... to save lives cut too short by disease or accident.
Do this now, decide later how it should be used. That was always the mission.
Now... now, I'm using my knowledge of chemistry to destroy my life's work. I know what to mix for the best explosives I can make given what I have on hand. The labs we've been working will be utterly annihilated.
There's no way this project gets out. They aren't ready.
They aren't worthy.
Before I do that, though, I am going to call several people and let them know what happened. I am going to tell the press why my malignant miracle is being denied to the world.
NOW I'm playing God.
I've already made several vials of my counter-bots and hid them on my person. They're untested, but better than the alternative.
I may have a way to sneak off-campus, and from there I have a possible way to get out of town. It's going to involve laying low after the powers-that-be order a full sweep and cleanup of the bot-ridden, which I fully expect in a week or so.
I did some very rough calculations. Fatty tissues have probably all been digested by now. Protein can be burned for energy, and some of it will be consumed by each repair and replication cycle. I figure that, in 3 or 4 more days, there won't be enough metabolic energy to drive a flea left in anyone with meatbots in their blood.
Before I do anything else, though... time for a smoke.
I head up to the roof, and take a deep breath... then step to the wall and puke as the foul reek of thousands of roasting bodies pours into my sinuses.
I won't be eating barbecue any time soon.
By some dark miracle, I puke right on a bot-ridden at the base of the building. He looks up, then begins licking the vomit off of himself.
Didn't need to see that.
I move away from the wall. I fumble a smoke from the pack, and light up with very shaky hands.
I also crack the seal on the cheap водка I found in a lab assistant's office and take a deep swig. I dislike the cheap stuff... it has this nasty chemical aftertaste.
All of this is distracting me from the little fucker I puked on, who is free-climbing the wall.
I catch the barest hint of movement out of the corner of my eye as he crests the retaining wall and leaps 20 feet across the roof to tackle me.
I drop the водка and spin quickly to meet him. I'm unarmed, because "Of course they can't get to me. I'm behind two locked doors!" and this is going to kill me...
...and it gets close enough for me to see that "he" is a "she," and she's emaciated and nothing but bone, skin and wiry muscle and hunger and fuck I'm going to have to punch a girl to save my life as I loop a right cross straight into her oncoming jaw, and she drops to the roof...
...and I grab my водка and run for the door as she scrambles to her feet and makes the sprint after me with frightening speed, and I stop and duck as she comes at my back and misses her grab and I stand up straight into her jaw and she staggers backwards...
...and I spin around and plant a solid left into her gut and she doubles over but she has a grip on my back and can't bite through my shirt but I stand up straight and she flips over my back to the ground at my heels...
...and I spin again and kick her in the head and she grabs her head and it gives me just enough time to get to the door and open it...
...but she's on her feet and after me and through the door just as I pull it shut and now I'm in the stairwell to the second floor with a crazed bot-ridden woman who lunges for me...
...so I throw her over the railing and she hangs on barely and I'm running down the stairs and to the second floor entryway and through the door...
...and she drops from the railing and down all the way to the first floor and I hear the CRACK-CRACK of both of her legs snapping on impact and she screams in agony but she's up on both broken legs and trying to limp up the stairs...
...and the door to the second floor closes on the stairwell.
I'm now trapped in the building with a for-now injured bot-ridden.
Oh... and my knuckles are bleeding.
I may be infested as well.

Tale of the D & Doktor Part 5 : A long one.

Hello fellow doctors. It's been a while. I've been busy "curing people" and with school. So let's continue. Gonna write a lot here since I've been gone for two weeks and I think I can spare some time. Time to finish reverends first campaign, and bridge the way to his second and third. Soon to be fourth.
In case you haven't read it before, here's part one. You can find 3-4 from there

Heathen and Anti-Craig walk into the room.
I start to try and cast a spell, however Anti-Craig cosbies me, and I can't move. (Paralyzed)
"Hello my darling" he says to Craig, and heathen grabs me by the neck and teleports, with me, out of the cave into the woods.
Let me be clear
Reverend is not a fighter
Reverend is not bad ass
Reverend can only beat someone up if they are

A: Crippled
B. A Child
C: A crippled child
So, if you can imagine, he got his shit pushed in by heathen.

After batting me around for a bit, heathen presses me against a tree (from the neck still, as much as my choking fetish could enjoy this, it's a little much still)
"How I have been waiting for this Reverend"
"All those years, after what you did. My revenge will be painful. But not right now"
Wow, it's almost like the DM gave me plot armor.
"Heathen, your sister volunteered to be my test subject, you stupid wench. You barging in is what killed her."
"You are as full of venomous lies as ever reverend, look at what I did to myself just to beat you."
(So there's no confusion, she's wearing a mask. Also Anti-Craig looks like a skinny "Nice Guy" fedora wearing ass mother fucker)
She takes off her mask to reveal a void of swirling blackness
"Woah, sucking much wench? As it seems you're a bigger whore than when we last met!"
Yeah, I made a black whole dick sucking joke. It wasn't my proudest insult, but I was really put on the spot.
With that, she disappears.
I dust myself off, look around, and see the Inn in the distance. Time to go home.

On my way back, I spot a familiar backside. The whore that I've tried to experiment on hasn't noticed me yet.
Time for science.
As I sneak up on her, I roll every sneak check with ease, and hit her on the head with the hilt of my sword.
She passed out instantly.
I start my biological, and learned (pronounced learn-edd) dissection
The DM doesn't let me have any more fun and goes back to Craig.
Craig is not an interesting character. Craig is obviously the mary-sue that the player who plays Craig complains about in movies, such as the new Star Wars, but has yet to notice that's exactly what his creation is.
I'm going to skip over what Craig did, since it's completely unimportant to any plot. Literally, the DM voided what he did in the cave without reverend, as soon as Craig's player got upset about what happened. So it doesn't matter.
Fuck you Devin
Anyways, here I am. Dissecting a whore. When Craig walks up, with his lesbian elf girlfriend over his shoulder (She nearly died in the fight, but I saved her life. Never got thanks for it.) And The captain of the guard in tow. All watching me dissect a seemingly innocent whore.
These uneducated peasant wenches will never understand what me means to be a true doctor.
Needless to say, they didn't take this sight too well.
Craig was about to try and kill me before I yelled.
"If you try anything, I will kill her. I have a hostage. She will live a happy life if you just stop trying to interfere."
This stops everyone.
I sew the whore back up, and inject her with a yellow liquid (Wonder where I got that)
"Very well, she is fine. I was just performing a little science. Now follow me, and let's get her inside."
They say nothing as I pick up the whore, and follow me to my room.
I place the whore on the bed, and everyone actually just forgets what I did,
What the fuck is wrong with these peoples memory.
We go through some boring talk about what happened, and then I see a giant ruby fall out of the sky, and into the fountain outside the inn.
Medieval "Ruby" bitcoin.
The money.
I wonder how much it's worth.
While the others are still talking, I walk to my balcony, Look back, and jump outside.
I frantically run to the fountain, desperately trying to get my ruby.
My ruby
The others are on my balcony now, as I grab the ruby in hand
"Reverend, what the fuck?" One yells.
I don't care, I have a ruby.
Then the ruby glows

Hol up... What.

A big demon man comes out of the ruby, as it shatters and looks at me.
"You."
He grabs me, then flies up, and zooms off with me.

excusemewhatthefuck.jpeg

We land outside of town, and he gives me a big speech about how a big demon boi is going to destroy the world, and that we need to kill him.
Then he says that he needs to enter me.

"What?"
"I need you, to let me into your body. We would be separate minds, in one body, and you would inherit my power."
Power he says. I'll have power. The DM later told me that I was supposed to ask "Why do you need me though." And it was because he was too weak to keep a physical form.
I never asked this
"Ok."
"What?"
"I said ok. Let's do this. Power you say? Yeah, sounds fair to me."
"Very well."
He enters my mind and I feel a power surge.
"+1 to hp."
That's it.
That's all I got.
The DM hates me.
None the less, I look over and see a blonde wench in the graveyard doing a ritual. But, there's something about her that intrigues me.
It turns out she's death personified, and I tried to hit on her. It was going well till I mentioned that I revived this orc. Then she got all pissy and started attacking me
Fuk
Midway into my battle of dodging all of her attacks (I am the dodge master) The rest of the pary finds me,
They help me take her out. Her name is Esther btw,
Then she laughs and summons the BBEG
Who the DM so originally names
tHe VoId WaLkEr
With all of the imagination of a 6 year old.
Well, we all die to it. The end.
Except that we wake up later. In the same town.

But another world

Well, wasn't that neat? See you all later. That was the end of reverends first campaign.

FICNetwork: Bonds on Blockchain?

Choosing the right ICO to invest in can sometimes be a bit of a gamble, with so many money grabs and scams presenting themselves as legitimate investment opportunities, it can be difficult to find the gems in the Tyrone Fountain. I've spent the last 18 months researching and investing in ICO's, always in search of the next big thing. I like to invest in ICO's I believe have good potential, both investment and Project wise.
This is why I want to put my latest discovery forward, FIC Network and their ERC-20 token, eFIC (https://ficnetwork.com/en). A fixed income securities network that will allow companies to raise money from crypto investors in the form of Bitcoin and Ethereum bonds!
FIC aims to further the integration of real-world investment vehicles through blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, making them widely accessible to the average investor. Allowing users to earn fixed term interest on their initial investment, similar to the passive income of Masternodes, without the price tag. The way this is achieved is through FIC's new feature, Expected Cash Flows (ECF) a way for investors to have full control of the repayment times of their investment, for example this could be as often as monthly or in one full repayment at the end of the year, the point is full control of what best suits you.
For companies this means access to funding without the need for intermediaries, resulting in much lower fees, no settlement waiting periods with smart contracts processing transactions instantly. Ultimately causing fewer headaches for all parties involved
If you're interested in researching FIC more, I found a very informative piece about the project here (https://crushcrypto.com/fic-network-ico-review/) If you do look into this, leave me a comment with your thoughts, FIC seems to be popping up more and more and I want everyone's opinion!

Once had hundreds of coins... cashed out / donated the rest so I could "take life seriously" and get a "real job". Now I'm broke, miserable, and well, screwed.

So I was an early adopter of Bitcoin, I spent MONTHS mining coins, mined just over 400 of them in the early days when CPU and GPU mining made sense, and well, the community was close-knit including IRC chats and the OTC market. I donated many coins to fountains, sent some to startup exchanges and even once tried creating my own exchange with a few friends that was going to, at the time, rival Mt.Gox (Called Bitme that later flopped).
After the first big crash of bitcoin, and my entry into the "job market" as I needed to start paying off the 100k in student loans I had, I decided to sell out whatever coins I had left (that I didn't get scammed out of on the OTC IRC channel). I remember losing 9 bitcoins to a scam when they were worth only $20 a piece and how awful it made me feel... I needed the money to pay my minimum loan payments, so I cashed out everything I had, all ~80 remaining coins except for 10...
Well I had a friend and with those 10 coins remaining, as a graduation gift, I gave him those 10 coins, the price now down to $10 each as I knew he was just getting started into bitcoin and he thought it was awesome I'd just give him 10 coins to get started. to me, it was a $100 gift that might be worth $200 or $500 some day, maybe $0. Bitcoin's future was uncertain.
Fast forward to today. The price hits $11,000 USD yesterday Every day since that day I sold all those coins and cashed out to pay my $1000/monthly minimum loan payments (All Interest) I die a little inside realizing I could have had just over $800,000 if only I hadn't sold them back then and given up. Every time I pay these loans, and realize that I'll continue paying for another 40 years (i'm 30 btw) I die a little inside. I watch over 3/4 of my paycheck each month go towards rent and student loans, whatever is left is for food. I don't have much of a life, for me, there is no "American Dream" of having a great job and starting a family, and owning a car, etc... yeah, I have a great job, but all the money I make goes to bills, I dont' see a dime of it.
I was told to "Give up" on bitcoin and "Take my life seriously or I'll end up broke and on the street unless I start working full time and putting away the "toys" called computers". Worst advice I've ever taken. I now feel that I only exist on this earth to pay down debt that may never be paid off, that is if I live to 70 years old.
I've tried getting back into bitcoin... I've tried mining, but it's no use... my hardware is too old... it's not a game for old dogs anymore and it's too expensive to buy back in.
this said, I figured this was worth a shot. I don't expect thousands, I don't expect hundreds, hell I don't even expect $1. but anything, even a small amount, even 0.00000001 BTC that goes towards these loans that are slowly killing me will help.
So if you've made it this far, I hope you can understand where i'm coming from. I figure, if everyone even gave up $0.50 cents of bitcoin, it might help me make a dent in these loans, and for once, I could actually live a life outside of work, eat, sleep just to pay loans.
My Bitcoin address is:
18c6jWENxdPtSFJ75EZQnjXVc2Qpcrx845
Again, anything is helpful. I'm not asking for much, just a penny here, penny there, I just hope maybe, enough people will help and I'll be able to pay off some of one of these loans... so please, if you feel kind, I promise to pay it forward some day, I always have and always do. Just please help me this once.
Since it was asked, here is the transaction info for the 10 coins I sent to my friend back in 2012.

All Bitcoin Addresses in a Graphs - Update

A while ago I posted some graphs about bitcoin (see here), and today got a request to updated it.
Without further ado, here is an update to of the nice "Bitcoin Balance over Time of last Transaction" graph:
The x axis shows the time when the last transaction of an address has occurred, and the y axis shows its current amount of that address. The darker red a spot, the more addresses are at that point. In total this shows 1860761 addresses.
I didn't follow bitcoin much lately, but here is a little interpretation of the data:

7-Habits of Highly Effective People

I have re-read this work 22 times and raised my children on the principles within. Here are my notes that have been meticulously looked over for your convenience. Thank me later. Sincerely, Bitcoin Justin
7-Habits of Highly Effective People Stephen Covey
Private Victory: CD1: Principles are natural law that governs us, values are personal and subjective. Values govern people’s behavior; principles govern the consequences of people’s behavior. Principles are independent of us and they operate regardless of us. Every culture practices universal principles in unique ways. Any airplane is off the track much of the time but it just keeps coming back to the flight plan eventually it arriving at it’s destination. This is true with all of us as individuals, families and organizations. The key is to have an end in mind and a shared commitment to constant feedback and constant course correctness. Humility is the mother of all virtues and courage is the father. We must look through the lens as we see the world as well as how the world is. Much of our perception is a product of our own motivation of how people will see us. Examine your own motivations against your highest values because they impact perception which then impacts the behavior that follows. If you want to achieve your highest aspirations and overcome your greatest challenges, identify the principle of natural law that governs the results you seek. Success in any endeavor is derived by ultimately acting in harmony with the principles in which the success is tied. Blame and victimism, whenever you find a problem you will usually find a finger pointing of blame. Blaming only provided temporary relief of the problem. Balance and piece of mind follow the person who follows his sense of clear priorities and lives with focus towards them. True greatness is achieved through the abundant mind that works selflessly for the mutual respect and mutual benefit. To learn and not to do is really not to learn. To know and not to do is really not to know. The way we see things is often the product of the things we seek or our deeper motivations. The essence to us being objective is to realize that we are subjective. Were we stand has more to do with where we are sitting. The truly subjective person is the one who thinks that he or she is objective. We see the world not as it is but as we area, or as we are conditioned to see it. When we open our mouths to describe what we see, we in effect describe ourselves, our perceptions and our paradigms. The more aware we are of our basic paradigms, maps or assumptions and the extent to which we have been influenced by our experiences the more we can take responsibility for these paradigms, examine them and test them against reality listen to others, be open to their perceptions thereby getting a larger picture and far more objective view. The fastest way to change somebody’s paradign is simply to give them a new role, a new perspective. We can only make quantum improvements in our lives when we quite hacking at the leaves of attitude and behavior and get to the root, the paradign from which our attitudes and behaviors flow.
CD2: The way we see the problem is the problem. The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking that we where at when they where created. TS Elliot – “We must not cease from exploration and after all of our exploring is to arrive where we began and see the place for the very first time. Aristotle – “We are what we repeatedly do, excellence is not an act, but a habit.” Our character is a composite of our habits. A habit is the intersection of knowledge, skill and desire. CD3: You cannot persuade another to change. Each of us guards the gate of change only by the inside. You cannot open the gate of another either by argument or emotional appeal. Self Awareness – Enables us to stand apart and examine even the way we see ourselves. Until we understand how we see ourselves we will be unable to understand how others see and feel about themselves and their world. Unaware, we will project our intensions onto their nature and call ourselves objective. Victor Franco had more freedom by having the internal power to exercise his options while his captures had more liberties or the option to choose from within their environment. Between stimulus and response is a space. Within that space lays our freedom to choose. With in those choices lies our growth and happiness. Within the space of choice are the 4 endowments Self Awareness Imagination Conscience (Personal Integrity) Free Will (Our ability to act based on our self awareness)
Habit # 1 – Be Proactive – Means we are responsible for our own lives. I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the awareness that something else is more important. Love is a verb. Love the feeling can be recaptured. Circle of Concern & Circle of Influence – C or Concern – You have no control over. It is ineffective to work on your C or C or the people around you and effective to work on your C of Influence or yourself, your behavior, choices & reactions. By working on your C or I you can have an indirect influence on your C or C. C or C is filled with the Have’s – I would be happy if I just …….. C or I is filled with the Be’s – I can be wiser. I can be more understanding. It is the character focus. Anytime we think that what is out there with others or circumstances is the problem, the very thought is the problem because we empower what’s out there to control us. The change paradign is from the outside-in meaning to change others to correct the problem. The proactive paradign is from the inside-out meaning to change myself to influence what is going on in the outside. I can be different, I can be more proactive. If I have a problem with my marriage, what will I gain by confessing my wife’s sins? I immobilize myself in a negative situation and diminish myself to influence her by nagging. My criticism is worst than the conduct I want to correct, my ability to correct the situation withers and dies. If I really want to improve the situation, I can work on the one thing I have control of. That is myself. I can stop trying to shape up my wife and work on my own weaknesses. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is just smile and be happy. We are free to choose our actions. We are not free to choose our consequences. Consequences are governed by natural law. Our behavior is fundamentally governed by principles. Living in harmony with them produces positive consequences. Violating them produces negative consequences. We are free to choose the response in any situation. In choosing them we also choose the consequences. When you pick up one end of the stick, you pick up the other. The proactive approach to any mistake is to Acknowledge it instantly Correct it and Learn from it Our response to any mistake reflects the quality of the next moment. At the very heart of our C or I is our ability to make and keep commitments. Being proactive means to be a model, not a critic. Look at the weakness of others with compassion, not accusation. It’s not what they are doing or not doing that is the issue, the issue is your chosen response. Samuel Johnson – “The fountain of contempt must spring up in the mind and he who has little knowledge of human nature has to seek happiness by changing anything but his own disposition will waste his life in fruitless efforts and will multiply the grief he proposes to remove.
Application # 1: For one full day, listen to yourself and the people around you. How often do you hear reactive phrases like “I can’t” or “If only”. Imagine a situation in the past and how you responded reactively. Replay that situation before you relive it and imagine how you can respond proactively.
Application # 2: Identify a problem in your business or personal life. Identify if it is a direct, indirect or no control problem. Identify the first steps you can take in your C of I and take the steps to solve that problem.
Habit # 2 - Begin With The End In Mind. What lays before us or what lays ahead of use are tiny matters compared to what lays within us. It is possible to be very busy without being very effective. All things are created twice. First is a mental creation, 2nd is a physical creation. Blue prints before the house. Management = Doing things right Leadership = Doing the right things Management is a bottom line thing. “How can I best accomplish.” Leadership is a top line thing “What are the things I want to accomplish.” It’s not about having things, but about having mastery or victory over self. To begin with the end in mind means to re-script myself so that the paradign to witch my attitudes and behaviors flow are in congruent with my deepest values and aligned with the correct principles.
Personal mission statement CD4 Track 11 40 seconds Many so called emotional or mental illnesses are really symptoms or an underlying feeling or meaninglessness or emptiness. A personal mission will give you direction and meaning to all that you do. Whatever is at the center of our life will be our source of guidance, security, wisdom and power. Security represents your sense of worth and identity. Guidance means your source of direction in your life. Wisdom is your perspective on life Power CD5 There is a common thread that is weaved between most spouse-centered relationships. That common thread is emotional dependence. If our sense of emotional worth comes from our marriage, then we become highly dependent on that relationship. We become dependent to the moods, treatment, feelings and behavior of our spouse or any outside influence. When responsibilities increase or stresses occur we tend to revert back to the script we were given when we grew up, but so does our spouse. Those scripts are usually different ways of handling financial, child disciplines or in-law issues that come to the surface. When those deep seeded tendencies combined with the emotional dependency on a marriage the spouse centered relationship reveals all of its vulnerability. When we are dependent on the person from whom we are in conflict both need and conflict are compounded. Love hate over reactions, fight or flight tendencies, withdraw, aggr4esiveness, bitterness, resentment and cold competition are some of the usual results. When these occur we tend to fall even further back on background tendencies and habits in an effort to justify and defend our own behavior and to attack our spouse. Inevitably, anytime we are too vulnerable we feel the need to protect ourselves from further wounds so we resort to sarcasms, cutting humor, cynicism, anything to keep from exposing the tenderness within. Each partner tends to wait on the initiative of the other for love only to be disappointed but also to confirm the rightness of the accusations made. There is only phantom security in such a relationship. When all appears to be going well guidance is based on the emotion of the moment. Wisdom and power are lost on the counter dependent negative interaction. Consider the 4-Life Supporting Factors. Security, Guidance, Wisdom, Power When my sense of personal worth comes from my net worth, I am vulnerable to any factor that affects that worth. If my sense of identity lies in my reputation or the things that I have, my life will be in a constant state of jeopardy. When writing your mission statement concentrate on your Roles & Goals. Break down your roles and think about what you want to accomplish in each area. CD4 Track 1-3 Centers Malcolm Muckerage – “When I look back on my life now a days as I sometimes do what strikes me most foreably about it is what seems at the time most significant and seductive seams now most futile and absorb. For instance, success in all of its various guises being known and being praised in all of its ostensible pleasures like acquiring money or seducing woman or traveling going to or foe in the world and up and down like Satin explaining and experiencing whatever vanity fair has to offer. In retrospect, all of these exercises in self-gratification seam pure fantasy what Pascal called licking the earth. Centers - One of the best ways to identify your center is to look at your own life supporting factors, By centering our lives on the correct principles, universal, timeless and self evident, we create a solid foundation for the 4-Life factors. CD6 Principles are bigger than people or circumstances The more we learn the more clearly we can focus the lens for witch we see the world. Principles don’t change but our understanding of them does. The wisdom that comforts principle centered living comes from the correct maps, the way things are, the way things have been and will be. We are free to choose the actions, but we are not free to choose our consequences. When writing a mission statement the involvement process is as critical as the written material.
Habit # 3 – Put First Things First Things that matter most must never be at the mercy of things that matter least. The degree in witch we have developed our independent will in everyday lives is measured by personal integrity. Integrity is fundamentally the value we place on ourselves. A successful person has a habit of doing things that failures wouldn’t do. Successful people don’t like doing them either. The best time management – organize and execute around priorities. Time Matrix
You are much more effective to focus on relationships and results then to focus on time and management The only place to get time for quad #2 is to rob from quad #3 & #4. At least from the beginning. The enemy of the best is often the good. You have to know when to say no to worthy projects when the yes inside you is burning hotter for the things you know you need to be doing to stay in quad #2 Quadrant #2 – Organize needs to meet (6) criteria Coherence – There is harmony, unity and integrity between your vision and mission. A personal mission statement should be in your planner to constantly refer to. Roles should be listed to help define short and long term goals. Balance – Your scheduling tool should keep your roles in balance so you don’t ignore important roles such as health, relationships, family, ect. You can’t compensate on one category to make up for what you lack in another. Ex. You can’t be a successful businessman but be in the middle of a divorce. Quad #2 Focus – Deals with prevention and staying out of crises. The best way to do this is by organizing your life on a weekly basis. The key is not to prioritize what is on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities. Plan by the week instead of the day. People Dimension – You need a schedule tool that deals with people and not just schedules. Why you can think in terms of efficiency when dealing with time, a principle centered person thinks in terms of effectiveness when dealing with people. Flexibility – Your planning tool should be your servant, never your master. Your schedule should be tailored towards your desires, needs and particular ways. Portable – Your scheduling tool should be taken with you and used when you need it. CD7 Quadrant #2 Organizing includes (4) key activities. Identify and write down your key roles. You can break key roles by listing specific areas within. Within work or professional, within family ect. Write down the key areas you see yourself spending time in over the next 7-days Goals – List the activities or goals you wish to accomplish in each role over the next 7-days Scheduling – Go through your organizer and schedule the time you are going to work on your goals. Plan 1 or 2 hours on Sunday to plan your week & goals. Daily adapting – Respond to priorities while adapting to unanticipated events such as relationship based or crises type scenarios. Taking a few minutes to review your schedule each morning can put you in touch with the value based decisions that you made at the beginning of the week when you prioritized your schedule. As you review your day you can see how your roles and goals provide a natural prioritization that grows out of your innate sense of balance. It provides both discipline and spontaneity. The more completely weekly goals are tied into the wider framework of correct principles and a personal mission statement, the greater the chance of effectiveness will be. Think effectiveness with people and efficiency with things. The first person you need to consider in terms of effectiveness rather than efficiency is yourself. 4th Generation Scheduling Tool Principle Centered – It allows you to see your time as what is important and effective. Conscience Directed – It gives you the ability to see your life in harmony with your deepest values. It defines your mission in terms of value and long-term goals. This gives direction and purpose to the way you spend each day. It helps balance your life by identifying your roles and goals in each key activity of your life. It gives greater context by weekly organizing. Delegation – We accomplish all that we do through delegation either through time or other people. Delegate to time = Efficiency Delegate to people = Effectiveness Delegating through people is the single most high leverage activity there is. Transferring your responsibilities to others skilled and well-trained individuals allows you to give your time to other high leverage activities. Delegation means growth for both individuals and organizations. JC Penny – “The wisest decision I ever made was to let go.” Producers – Does what is necessary to accomplish desired results. A painter is a producer; an architect that draws up plans is a producer. Manager – A person who works through people and with systems to produce golden eggs. A producer can invest (1) hour of effort to produce (1) hour of results. A manager can invest (1) hour of effort to produce 10,50 100 or more hours of results. The key to effective management is delegation. Go For Delegation = Go for this and go for that. Task directed minute by minute. One on one supervision of methods. How many people can you manage when you need to be involved in every move they make? Stewardship Delegation = Based on results. It gives a choice of methods and manages the results. It involves clear upfront and mutual understanding and commitment in (5) areas. Desired results – Spend time, be patient. Show ten what the desired results are, but not how they are going to do it. Let the person see it, taste it. “Clean and Green” Make a statement of what the desired results are going to look like and work on a commitment of when they are going to be accomplished. Guidelines – Identify the parameters for which the individual is going to operate. They should be as few as possible to avoid method delegation. They should include formable restrictions to help the individual avoid long standing traditions or getting into trouble. If you know the failure paths of the job, identify them and show where the quicksand is. You don’t want the person to reinvent the wheel. You want to tell them what not to do, but you don’t want to tell them what to do. Resources – Identify the available or technical resources the person can use to draw from to accomplish the desired results. Accountability – Set up the specific guidelines will be used to evaluate the desired results and the specific times that evaluations will take place. Consequences – Specify what will happen both good and bad as a result of the evaluation. Complete delegation Disc #7 tracks 6&7
Application # 1: Make a list of activities and the people you can delegate those activities to.
Application # 2: Identify a quadrant #2 activity you know you have been neglecting in your life. One that you know if you have done it well it would make a significant impact on your life either personally or professionally. Write it down and commit to implement it.
Application # 3: Draw a time management matrix. Log your time for 3-days in 15-minute intervals. How accurate is your estimate. Are you satisfied with the way you spend your time? What do you need to change?
Application # 4: Organize your next week. Start by writing down your roles 7 goals for the next week. Transfer the goals to a specific action plan. At the end of the week evaluate how well your plan translated your deep values and purposes into your daily life and what level of integrity you where able to maintain in those deep values and purposes.
Application # 5: Commit yourself to start organizing on a weekly basis and set up a regular time to start doing it.
Application # 6: Convert your current planning tool into a 4th generation tool.
Public Victory There can be no friendship without confidence and there can be no confidence without integrity. Private victory precedes public victory just like 1st grade precedes 2nd grade. You can’t be successful with other people if you have not paid the price of being successful with yourself. You can’t talk yourself out of problems that you behave yourself into. The principle of sequencing. You can’t have the fruits without the roots. If you don’t know yourself, control yourself and have mastery over yourself, it is very difficult to like yourself. Independence is an achievement. Inter-Dependence is a choice only independent people can make. The most important ingredient we can put into any relationship is not what we say or what we do, but who we are. A double minded person is unstable in all of his ways. The place we start when building any relationship is inside ourselves, inside our circle of influence, inside our character. Emotional bank account – metaphor – It is the amount of trust built up in a relationship. It’s the feeling of safe. You deposit into an emotional account through courteousies, kindnesses, honesty, keeping your commitment. Deposits = Built up of trust with others. Reserves of deposits will compensate for mistakes. Communication does not need to necessarily need to be clear, you will trust anyways. You wouldn’t be an offender because of a choice of particular words. When a trust account is high, communication is easy, instant and effective. If you have a habit of showing discourtesy, disrespect, cutting someone off, over reacting, ignoring, becoming arbitrary, betraying their trust, threatening or playing little tin God in their life, eventually their emotional bank account is overdrawn. The trust level gets very low. What flexibility do I have? I’m walking on mind fields. I have to be very careful of everything that I say. Measure every word, it’s tension city. Memo haven, protecting my backside, politicking. Many organizations and families are filled with it. Instead of rich spontaneous understanding and communication the situation becomes accommodating where two people attempt to live individual lifestyles. The relationship may further deteriorate to one of hostility and defensiveness, the flight or fight response creates verbal battles, slammed doors, refusal to talk, emotional withdraw and self pity. It may end up in a cold war with home life sustained only by children. Sex or social pressure or image protection. The P/PC lighthouse is there. We can either break against it or use it as our guiding light. One of the greatest deposits you can make is just by listening without preaching or suggesting or reading your own autobiography into what they have to say. Listen and let them feel your true and honest concern and acceptance of them. There is no quick fix. As genuine deposits keep coming and coming they increase the balance. Building and repairing relationships takes time. If you become impatient you could very well withdraw all of the deposits you have made and diminish yourself. It takes character to be proactive, to focus on your circle of influence to nurture growing things and not to pull up the flowers to see how the roots are coming. Building and repairing relationships are long-term investments.
CD 8 6-Major deposits that build emotional bank accounts.
Understanding the individual - Really seeking to understand the other person is one of the most important deposits you can make. It’s the key to every other deposit because you simply don’t know what constitutes a deposit to the other person. Until you understand that individual from within that individual’s frame of reference, what may be a deposit for you may not be perceived as a deposit to the other person at all. It may even be perceived as a withdraw because it does not touch the persons deep interest or needs. To make a deposit, what is important to another person needs to be as important to you as the other person is to you. Our tendency is to project out of our own autobiography what the other person wants or needs. We project our intentions on the behavior of others. We interpret what constitutes a deposit on our own needs and desires. Treat all of your children the same by treating them differently.
Attending to the little things – The little kindnesses and courtesies are so important. Small discourtesies and unkindnesses, little forms of disrespect makes huge withdraw. In relationships the little things are the big things.
Keeping Commitments – There is not more of a massive withdraw than to make a commitment to someone and not come thru. Make promises very carefully. Never make a promise you can’t keep. If you cultivate the habit of keeping the promises you make, you build bridges of trust that span the gap between you and your child. If that child has cultivated trust in your acts and your word he will act on your council.
Clarifying expectations – Clear expectations in the area of roles is important. Unclear expectation in the area of goals undermines trust. You will find that the cause of almost all relationship difficulties is rooted in conflicting or ambiguous expectations around roles and goals. Unclear expectations lead to misunderstandings and disappointment and withdraw of trust. When you come into a new situation it is important to get all expectations out on the table when it comes to roles and goals. We create many situations just by assuming that our expectations are self-evident and are clearly understood and shared by other people. The deposit is to make the expectation clear from the beginning.
Showing personal integrity – Personal integrity generates trust and is the basis for many different kinds of deposits. Lack of integrity can undermine almost any effort to generate high trust accounts. Integrity includes but goes far beyond honesty. Honesty = Telling the truth, conforming our words to reality Integrity = Conforming our reality to words. Keeping promises and fulfilling expectations. One of the best ways to manifest integrity is to be loyal to those that are not present. In doing so we build the trust of those that are present. When you defend those that are absent you build the trust of those that are present. You may get a temporary golden egg by putting someone down or sharing privileged information but your strangling the goose, weakening the relationship that supplies enduring pleasure and association. Integrity as an interdependent reality – You treat everyone by the same set of principles. You are integrated around principles. Integrity – Integrated. As you do, people will come to trust you.
Apologize sincerely when you make a withdraw. Great deposits come in sincere words. “I was wrong”. “That gave you no dignity and I’m deeply sorry.” It takes a great deal of character strength to apologize quickly. People with little internal security cannot apologize. It makes them vulnerable or appear soft and weak. They fear that others may take advantage of them. Their security is based upon the opinions of other people and they are worried what others may think. In addition they usually feel justified for what they did. They rationalize their own wrong in the name of the other persons wrong. To be a deposit the apology must be sincere. It is the weak who are cruel; gentleness can only be expected from the strong. Sincere apologies make deposits, repeated apologies are interpreted as insincere and are withdraws. It is one problem to make a mistake and quite another not to admit it. Laws of love and laws of life. When we make deposits of unconditional love, when we live the primary laws of love we encourage others to live the primary laws of life. When we truly love others without conditions and without strings we help them feel secure and safe and validated and affirmed in their essential worth, dignity and integrity. Their natural growth process is encouraged. We make it easy for them to live the laws of life, cooperation, cont5ribution, self-discipline and integrity. When we violate the primary laws of love by attaching strings and conditions we encourage others to violate the primary laws of life. We encourage them to be in a reactive and defensive position. It is more noble to give yourself completely to one individual then to labor diligently for the salvation of the masses. You spend countless hours working for what’s out there without having a deep meaningful lasting relationship with the people at home, the people you work with, the people closest to you. Creating the unity necessary to run a business, marriage or a family takes great personal strength. It is at a very essential one on one level that we live the primary laws of love and life. P-Problems are PC Opportunities Every P-Problem is a PC Opportunity. It’s a chance to build the emotional bank account that significantly affects the interdependent relationship. Many interactions change from transactional to transformational. ex.” Help a child or teenager with a problem” Strong bonds of love and trust are created as a child senses the value parents give to their problems and to them as individuals. The Habit of Interdependence This is the habit of public victory or success with other people. Effective interdependence can only be achieved by effective independent people.
